Good ol’ Oscar, the manager and owner of the bombastic comic book store Nexus-4 in Santander, Spain, has recently opened to the public the new store website, and he had an excellent idea: to invite some talented, sensible artists, authors and criticts to give their opinion on whatever they felt like giving their opinion on using his blog as a column, trusting their good judgement and knowledge. Unfortunately for him, he also invited me to go around voicing my mind without giving it much of a thought, so… Here it goes, my first collaboration at the Nexus-4 website (in Spanish)!

El bueno de Oscar, gerente y dueño de la muy bombástica librería especializada Nexus-4 de Santander, ha inaugurado recientemente la nueva página web de la tienda, y tuvo una excelente idea: invitar a artistas, escritores y críticos sensatos a dar su opinión sobre cualquier tema o asunto que consideraran conveniente y necesario, usando su blog a modo de columna y confiando en su buen juicio y conocimiento. Desgraciadamente para el, también me invito a mi a vocear mis opiniones a lo loco y sin silenciador, asi que… ¡Ahí va, mi primera colaboración como articulista en la web de Nexus-4!

YOUNG ALLIES #4 IN STORES! ¡YOUNG ALLIES #4 A LA VENTA!

A new month arrives, and along with it comes a new Young Allies issue! On September 1st, Young Allies #4 will be available in a comic store near you! We’re getting close to the end of the series’ first arc and our boys and girls are in a pretty tough spot. Don’t believe me? Check out the preview pages at Newsarama, in color and Cinemascope! By the way, these pages and a lot more depicting the exploits of the Young Allies will soon be on display at the gallery section and in the original art catalog. Do not change the channel!

¡Llega un nuevo mes, y con el otra entrega de Young Allies! ¡El 1 de Septiembre estará disponible en las librerías USA (y un poco mas tarde en su librería de importación) el Young Allies número 4! Nos acercamos al final del primer arco de la serie, y nuestros chicos y chicas se las están viendo tiesas de verdad. Si no me creen a mi, échenle un vistazo a las páginas de adelanto cortesía de Newsarama, a todo color y en Cinemascope. Por cierto, que estas y unas cuantas páginas mas de la serie estarán pronto a la vista en la sección de Galerías y disponibles en el catálogo de originales. ¡Permanezcan atentos a la pantalla!

So, it looks like Young Allies had a warm welcome! Issue #1 will get a second printing, and you will find it alongside issue #2 on July 8th, with an alternate cover by David Lafuente. Not only the first issue of the new series, but also the whole Nomad miniseries by Sean McKeever and yours truly! Oh, do I need an Ipad…

-Young Allies #1: ¡Debuta la serie protagonizada por Nomad, Firestar, Gravity, Araña y Toro! Fecha de salida, 9 de Junio.¡ACTUALIZACIÓN! ¡He aquí una preview en Newsarama! ¡Y MÁS ACTUALIZACIÓN! La preview comentada por aquí el que suscribe, en Zona Negativa!

-Age of Heroes #2: Segunda entrega de la antología que introduce The Heroic Age en Marvel. En este número, 11 páginas de Gravity, con guión de Sean McKeever y dibujos del que suscribe, como aperitivo de la nueva serie do Young Allies. No es imprescindible para entender lo que ocurre en la serie… ¡Pero está muy bien!. Para el 16 de Junio.

-Captain America #607, con el complemento de Nomad incluido. Esta es, si no me fallan las cuentas, la ultima de las entregas de Nomad en solitario que he dibujado. Y una de las que mas me ha gustado. A la venta el 30 de Junio.

Ale, no dirán que no estaban avisados. Y no se preocupen que la avalancha es solo este mes, luego ya volvemos al número al mes de toda la vida…

-Age of Heroes #2: Second instalment of the anthology introducing Marvel’s Heroic Age. We’ve got 11 pages devoted to Gravity, written by Sean McKeever and pencilled by me, serving as an introduction to the events presented in Young Allies #1. Not like you have to read these to understand those but… They’re really cool, so I’d grab this one anyway!

-Captain America #607: If I’m counting right, this one includes my last eight pages of Nomad’s solo adventures. And it’s some real good stuff from Mr. McKeever!

There you go! And please do not panic, this is not going on forever. Next month we’re back to good old one-comic-book-a-month routine…

EL SECRETO DEL ACERO THE SECRET OF THE STEEL

He estado tentado de titular este post como “No solo dibujo adolescentes”, pero bueno… Una noticia que tenía ganas de dar y enseñar: Edge Entertainment anuncia Conan, el Juego de Cartas, cuyas ilustraciones a lápiz, con color de David Ardila, he tenido el placer de realizar. ¡Y lo anuncia con una preview de las cartas! El juego saldrá a la venta durante este año y como pueden ver, luce bello. ¡Pasen, vean y entréguense a la ludopatía hyborea!

I have been tempted to entitle this post with a “Not Only Drawing Teenagers” line… Anyway, I was aching to show this around. Edge Entertainment announces the release of Conan, the Card Game! The illustrations have been pencilled by yours truly and lavishingly colored by David Ardila, and as you can see in this preview, they look gorgeous. It will be out this very 2010. Surrender to compulsive Hyborean card playing!

Espero que los muchachotes de Zona Negativa no se me molesten por el título de este post, pero en mi actual estado de euforia por Steven Moffat no he podido resistirme. El caso es que la ínclita web de información comiquera ha tenido a bien hacerme una larga y profunda entrevista. Hela aquí.

THE YOUNG ALLIES

Bueno, pues ya esta anunciado por toda la entrerred. La próxima aventura en la que nos embarcamos es la nueva serie de Young Allies. IGN, CBR, Newsarama y Zona Negativa se hacen eco de ello también. A los guiones estará Sean Mckeever y aquí el que suscribe se ocupará de los monigotes. Las portadas estarán a cargo del mayúsculo David Lafuente, además. Aquí mismo podéis ver la preciosidad que se ha marcado para el primer número, presentando la alineación titular del grupo y el rediseño de Toro del que se ha hecho cargo. Así que ya sabéis, para Junio hay nuevo grupo. ¡Son los Young Allies!

So it’s all over the interwebs now. The next adventure to tackle will be the new Young Allies series! IGN, CBR, Newsarama and Zona Negativa all cover the story. It will be written by Sean McKeever and yours truly will take care of the pencilling chores. And to top it all the covers will be provided by the glaring David Lafuente. Here’s his cover for the first issue, presenting the whole team AND his Toro redesign. So, you know, new team coming up in June. They’re the Young Allies!

Hoy mismo, 20 de enero, sale a la venta en USA el Capitán América #602, en el que la buena de Rikki Barnes se estrena en formato complemento de 8 paginas. Con motivo de este arranque, Sean McKeever ha concedido una entrevista a Newsarama. ¡Y además con unas cuantas páginas de preview! Aquí pueden verlas también. ¡Pero pasen, pasen y averigüen los planes que hay preparados para la mejor Nomad que hubo jamás! Ah, y además sepan que ya está anunciada, en las solicitations para Marzo, la recopilación de la miniserie. ¡Corran a su tienda a encargarla ya!
