Well, not exactly, but I had to come up with a post title good enough to make you look… Anyway: tomorrow, wednesday, August 31st, the fifth and last issue of Marvel Zombies Christmas Carol will be released. It is, without question, the US work I’m most proud of so far. Jim McCann’s OUTSTANDING writing (this last issue is simply beautiful) was a pleasure to illustrate, and the work of Jordi Tarragona and Ferran Daniel at, respectively, inks and color has been equally magnificent. Me, I just hope I’ve been able to follow suit as decently as possible and feel awfully sorry that I don’t get to draw Scrooge in page action again. In all honesty, go pick the book or the collected edition soon to be released. One of the best adaptations to comic book form and, may I say, the best and most faithful to the original version of A Christmas Carol ever. Even with the zombies. Now, to the other side of the spectrum, stylistically speaking: August 19th saw the release of not only Conan’s last movie endeavour, but also Conan: The Card Game, which I illustrated for Edge Entertainment some time ago. Created by Juan Andrés and Álvaro Hurtado Hidalgo, with art direction and color by David Ardila and illustrations by yours truly, it is an excellent game -hey, they say at Tebeosfera that it “materializes the Hyborian universe in cards better than any other artist before”… Thank you!. The good folks at Edge have gone with a full coverage and promotion campaign, with a particular focus on the art process in these two posts with sketches, pencils and all…  Check it up!

Bueno, no es que se vayan a pegar, es que había que poner un título al post que llamara la atención…De todos modos, mañana día 31 de Agosto sale a la venta en USA el quinto y último número de Marvel Zombies Christmas Carol. Es, sin lugar a dudas, el proyecto del que más orgullo so me siento por haber participado. Ilustrar los EXCELENTES guiones de Jim McCann ha sido un placer (este último numero es una belleza), y el trabajo de Jordi Tarragona y Ferrán Daniel en las tintas y los colores respectivamente han sido simplemente magníficos. Yo me doy con un canto en los dientes si les he podido seguir el ritmo mas o menos decentemente. En serio, no duden ustedes en hacerse con el cómic o con la recopilación que aparecerá en breve. Una de las mejores adaptaciones literarias a formato cómic y, ya me perdonaran ustedes, la mejor y más fiel versión del clásico de Dickens hasta la fecha. Con zombies y todo, y lo digo en serio. Por cierto, aquí pueden ustedes ver un avance.

Y ahora, a las antípodas de Scrooge, estilísticamente hablando: el pasado 19 de Agosto no solo se estrenó la última aventura fílmica de Conan, sino también Conan: El Juego de Cartas, que un servidor de ustedes ilustró hace algún tiempo para Edge Entertainment. Creado por Juan Andrés y Álvaro Hurtado Hidalgo, con dirección artística y color de David Ardila y lápices de aquí el que suscribe, ha salido un juego excelente (dicen en Tebeosfera que “ha conseguido materializar el universo hiborio en las cartas mejor que ningún otro artista anterior”… ¡Gracias!). La buena gente de Edge, además, se están saliendo con una excelente campaña promocional que hace especial hincapié en el arte del juego y su proceso, en este par de posts con bocetos, lápices y todo. ¡Echenle un vistazo!
